Many customers believe that anything they desire can be packed in a container. Some items, however, are not allowed to be carried in a storage container. It’s vital to understand what they’re so you can prepare ahead of time. The following is a list of objects that cannot be transported in your storage container:

You cannot ship hazardous materials like gasoline, pesticides, explosives, and oil-chlorine bleach. These items are also forbidden to transport in moving containers.

Containers aren’t built to preserve perishables, such as food. They will go rancid if they are not kept cool.

Chemicals are not allowed in containers either. Keep all pesticides, cleaning supplies, and pool chemicals in a safe, locked space, never carelessly laying around where they could pose a danger to humans or the environment.

Storing explosives, ammunition, or firecrackers in containers is unsafe for both people and property.

No animals, dead or alive, are allowed in containers during transport. This rule applies to all pets and farm animals.

If you need to bring anything from the list above with you on your trip, you’ll either have to come up with another method of transportation or figure out how to transport it someplace else. You may be able to send one thing at a time or find a different approach to move everything from your house to where you’re going without jeopardizing their safety.

No matter the situation, always consult with your chosen moving company and see what their policy says about these things. If you plan and organize everything ahead of time, you can be certain that all your belongings will arrive at your new home safely.

Combustible materials
