Windows – Smudged, speckled windows are an eyesore, hit these with a glass cleaner and microfiber cloth to get them crystal clear.
Light Fixtures – Use a vacuum cleaner to clear any caked on dust from your light fixtures.
Ceiling Fans – Make sure to give the ceiling fans a good dusting before turning them on.
Flooring – Use a steam mop to give all floor surfaces including ceramic tile, vinyl, laminate, marble, stone and hardwood a deep clean.
Carpet – Make sure to vacuum carpets thoroughly to get rid of any dust and other debris.
Bathtub/shower – These surfaces can be a breeding ground for mold and bacteria. Use a bleach-based cleaner to get these sanitized.
Exhaust Fans – These are often forgotten, but they can really affect the air quality of your home, give these a thorough dusting to get rid of any buildup.
Toilet Seats – While you can go through the effort of cleaning these, it’s much cleaner and time-efficient to purchase new seats and covers for your toilet.
Sink – Just like your tub and shower, you should give your bathroom sink a thorough cleaning with a strong cleaner to get rid of any mold and mildew.
Fridge – If you are inheriting a fridge from the previous resident, you want to make sure it’s completely clean before storing food in it. Use a mild cleaning solution to soak the shelves and drawers and use a food-safe disinfectant to clean the interior.
Countertops and cabinets – These surfaces can get sticky and discolored overtime from cooking grease – give them a good scrub with a sponge and mild cleaner.
Stove – Give the stove a good degreasing by wiping the surface down with some mild soap and warm water, remove the burner covers and soak them in soapy water as well.
