Are you moving and need to transport your fish tank? Before you relocate, there are a few things to consider. UNITS® Moving and Portable Storage of Omaha can assist you in ensuring that your fish tank arrives in good condition at its new location. Follow these six easy steps:
1. When transporting a fish tank, make sure it’s completely dry before loading it onto the truck. Also, clear any water or foreign particles from the aquarium.
2. Before proceeding, remove all the water from the tank and any furnishings. When the tank is empty, make sure it’s completely dry. This will help to prevent germs from taking hold of the tank.
3. Remove any equipment from the tank before moving it. Unplug all of the tank’s components, including filters and heaters.
4. To avoid bumps and scratches, cover the tank with a traveling blanket.
5. Keep your aquarium in excellent working order. Use a traveling blanket rather than towels or rugs to avoid dropping the tank while transporting it.
6. It’s possible that after the move you discovered some leaks. Once everything is reconnected and put together, fill the tank with water and test for any fractures in the glass.
Follow these six steps to safely move your fish tank, and you’ll be good to go! Check out the UNITS® Moving and Portable Storage of Omaha blog for more moving tips and advice.
