Remove Dirt and Grime

Dusting off all the items you plan on placing in the container should be your first step. Ensure to remove any debris or sticky residues that could harden over time. That will prevent you from having to scrub the furniture when you take it out and potentially ruin the piece. 

Wrap Everything

After you’re done cleaning the furniture, it’s time to wrap it up. We recommend using moving blankets, old linens, and bedding. Bubble wrap is also a great option for glass pieces. And don’t forget to protect your mattresses and box springs from allergens using plastic wrap! 

Strategically Organize the Furniture

Last but not least, once it’s time to put your furniture in the container, you will want to do so carefully. It’s best to place any heavier and solid furniture pieces towards the back of the container. You will then want to place softer and lighter items on top and in-between any gaps. That will prevent the furniture from shifting in the container. And a general rule of thumb is to always place the items you want to easily retrieve towards the front. Mattresses are a good option for the front of the container because they provide some protective cushion while the container is in transit.
