Is Summer Cleaning A Thing? Maybe It Should be

Piles here and piles there. Books, papers, boxes. Stacked up. Some in front of the windows, illuminating how much dust has accumulated.

Maybe it’s too late for spring cleaning, but it’s never too early for a bit of tidying that will brighten your living space.

Books, boxes, those can go in a UNITS storage unit. But right now let’s focus on a healthier living environment free of so much clutter and allergens.

Dust mite allergy is an allergic reaction to tiny bugs that commonly live in house dust. Signs of an allergy to dust mite include are similar to hay fever, such as sneezing and runny nose. Many with this allergy also experience signs of asthma, (wheezing, difficulty breathing).

What can we do in this situation? First, clean up. It can be difficult to part with certain items, but if they are simply gathering dust you will need to move them out. If they have enough value to them, we’re happy to help you arrange for a UNITS storage unit. If not, you can donate books to shelters and veterans organizations.

If you’re going to keep them, dust them with a clean cloth. Vacuum your place. And you can check with your doctor or pharmacist about over-the-counter or prescription medications that will keep your dust allergy in check.
