Looking to move to the great state of Pennsylvania but not sure what types of homes are available or common? Here is a list of five (5) common home-types that you may enjoy!

  1. Colonial Revival Style. These homes became popular in the 40’s and 50’s. These styles feature a Columned porch, front door sidelights, a symmetrical facade and other unique features.
  2. Collegiate Gothic Style. Popular in the late-19th and early-20th centuries for prominent university buildings such as Boston College, Yale, Duke, and Princeton.
  3. Beaux Arts Style. This architectural style was taught at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, particularly from the 1830s. The  Beaux Arts style was seen as an expression of wealth.
  4. Spanish Colonial Revival Style. This architectural movement arose in the early 20th century incorporating traditional latin elements such as clay tile roofs, round arch openings, and carved wooden doors.
  5. Tudor Revival Style. In the 1920s and 1930s, the Tudor style was second only to the Colonial Revival style in residential popularity.
