1. Winterthur Museum and Gardens. Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library is an American estate and museum that houses one of the most important collections of Americana in the United States of America.
2. Rehoboth and Delaware Beaches. This beautiful Atlantic Costal Town has a boardwalk lined with restaurants, shops, hotels and amusements. In the summertime there are also free concerts to go to.
3. Hagley Museum and Library. The Hagley Museum and Library is a nonprofit educational institution that has a history of being the first Du Pont family home and garden in the United States, the powder yards, and a 19th-century machine shop.
4. Nemours Mansion and Gardens. The Nemours Mansion and Gardens is a 300-acre country estate built to resemble a French château.
5. Delaware Art Museum. Galleries featuring pre-Raphaelite art, a 9-acre sculpture garden and a host to studio art classes, a children’s learning area, as well as a cafe and museum store.
6. John Dickinson Plantation. Open to the public as a museum by the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs. It was the boyhood home and sometimes residence of the Founding Father and American revolutionary leader John Dickinson (1732-1808).
7. Air Mobility Command Museum. The Air Mobility Command Museum is dedicated to military airlift, air refueling aircraft, and the men and women who flew and maintained them.
8. Brandywine Creek State Park. Open year-round, this state park spans 933 acres. Much of the park was part of a Du Pont family estate and dairy farm before becoming a state park in 1965.
9. The Nanticoke Indian Museum. It is the only Native American museum in Delaware and features hundreds of the Eastern Shore tribe’s amazing artifacts and history.
10. Brandywine Zoo. The zoo covers 4.7 acres of land along the Brandywine River and features animals from the Americas, temperate and tropical Asia, Africa, Australia and the Pacific Islands.
