Dust-off and Clean

All of your furniture should receive a good cleaning before placing them in the storage container. Ensure that not only to remove dirt and debris but also remove sticky residues. If you don’t do this before storing the furniture, by the time you take it out of storage, it can be hard to remove.

Wrap and Protect 

Although our storage containers are specifically designed to provide maximum stability, mishaps can still occur. Especially if you don’t take precautionary measures to protect your furniture. That’s why we recommend wrapping furniture in materials such as moving blankets, but you can use your old linen and bedding as well. Also, consider covering any mattresses and boxsprings in plastic to ensure no allergens settle into the fabric while in storage.

Place it Purposefully

Storing your furniture purposefully can prevent shifting and avoid damage to your favorite pieces. First, place all heavy furniture pieces towards the back of the container and then place lighter and softer items on top. That will ensure you maximize the space you have. Maximizing the space should be your ultimate goal. Wherever you see an empty spot, place an item there. The less space in the container, the less shifting will occur. And always remember to position the things you need easy access to towards the front. Usually, mattresses are best placed there.
