That\u2019s why the Central Ohio Fraternal Order of Leatherheads Society (FOOLS) is giving firefighters an opportunity to hone their skills at its upcoming \u201cApril FOOLS Firemanship Days\u201d Event.<\/p>\n<p>Columbus-area firefighters can participate in the valuable training event with few limitations because they will be practicing on condemned structures that are scheduled for demolition. First responders will benefit from fireground education led by instructors joining from communities across the country.<br \/>\n\u201cAs fellow firefighters, the overall mission of F.O.O.L.S. is to better ourselves, better our profession, and meet the needs of our communities,\u201d says Bryan Cantrell, treasurer of Central Ohio F.O.O.L.S. \u201cThrough our fundraising efforts and collaboration with local business leaders, we are able to hold training exercises that help us meet and exceed community expectations during emergencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Event Details:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What: April FOOLS Firemanship Days<\/li>\n<li>When: April 17 &amp; April 18, 2021<\/li>\n<li>Where: 42 Woodcliff Court, Whitehall, OH 43213<\/li>\n<li>Time: 9:00AM to 5:00PM both days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>UNITS Moving and Portable Storage of Columbus is supporting the upcoming fire training exercise by donating a portable storage container that will be used to safeguard valuable firefighting equipment.<br \/>\nKen Yarnell, a driver and operator of the Robo-UNITS delivery system in Columbus, is a retired fire lieutenant with first-hand experience. He says training exercises are vital to ensure the safety of a community when disaster strikes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m proud to work for a company that supports our local heroes,\u201d Yarnell says. \u201cWhile no one wants to have to call 911, we all want to have confidence in our first responders in the urgent moments when we need them most.
