The 1938 Orson Welles radio broadcast, “The War of the Worlds”, was performed live on October 30th. What was set as a fictional drama turned to panic when the listeners took the broadcast as a newscast as it was presented as a standard evening broadcast, instead of a special, interrupted with live news bulletins of reported “odd explosions observed from Mars” and “an unusual object calling on a farm”. A farm located right in West Windsor, NJ; Grover’s Mill. Today, plaques and monuments mark the historically deceitful broadcast and can be visited. Rumor has it there is still a large indent in the grass where the aliens “landed”…
