We\u2019re breaking down both categories, but first, let\u2019s start with what you can store in a unit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What is Allowed in a Storage Unit<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Typically, you can store anything that\u2019s not on that storage unit\u2019s prohibited items list, but that list can vary by company. In general, there is a wide array of items you can safely store in your unit. Here\u2019s a list of other items that many storage unit companies won\u2019t allow:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Firearms: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Storing firearms can create liability issues for storage facilities.
